CVE Joins Harmonic at NAB Show 2026 in Booth W2831

The Italian distributor Communication Video Engineering (CVE) will be present at the Harmonic NAB Show 2026 booth by appointment.

At this year’s NAB Show, Harmonic will show hybrid solutions for streaming and broadcast, based on the integration of on-premises and cloud infrastructures. The company will present a technology portfolio that integrates automation and artificial intelligence into video workflows, improving operational efficiency, service quality and economic sustainability.

Introducing the Next Generation of High-Performance Video Appliances

New enhancements to Harmonic’s industry-leading video appliances are driving operational efficiency for leading broadcasters globally.

  • Harmonic’s XOS Advanced Media Processor supports Dolby Vision® advanced HDR with look management, enabling broadcasters to optimize HDR content across display types and preserve creative intent on any screen. The XOS media processor also includes Dolby Atmos® object-based audio with support for audio description and dialog enhancement, improving accessibility and allowing for more immersive viewer experiences.
  • Harmonic’s XOS media processor supports traditional satellite workflows in addition to IP-based distribution using SRT or RIST together with CDN distribution while maintaining exceptional video quality and low latency. The media processor offers hybrid satellite and IP delivery, leveraging emerging standards like satellite Ku-Band downlink and RIST packet recovery over IP to help broadcasters ensure a smooth migration away from legacy satellite infrastructure while maintaining broadcast-grade service reliability for primary distribution.

Advancing Streaming and Monetization with New Solution Enhancements

Harmonic is powering the evolution of streaming and redefining monetization with key innovations.

  • Harmonic will showcase its first large production deployment of VOS Media Software on Red Hat OpenShift, further advancing its hybrid streaming solution with central management across private and public cloud environments.
  • Harmonic will showcase the first production deployment of server-side in-stream advertising by a leading U.S. regional sports network. The solution automatically triggers in-stream ads during live games, boosting monetization without interrupting the viewing experience.
  • A new in-house, server-side multiview solution can now be configured within Harmonic’s VOS360 Media SaaS to boost fan engagement. The solution can be combined with in-stream ads to monetize multiview channels and increase revenue.

Smarter Streaming with AI-Powered Workflows

Harmonic’s AI-powered workflows deliver real-world benefits:

  • Harmonic will introduce a new AI orchestration service at the 2026 NAB Show. The AI orchestration service aggregates, orchestrates, maintains and updates best-of-breed third party and in-house AI functions. It coordinates AI-based processing for live content, manages redundancy and synchronizes outputs. Through its intuitive UI, customers can easily configure and schedule the AI functions to be activated on the fly. The new service offers a broadcast-grade, resilient and fully secured service that works alongside VOS360 Media SaaS, VOS Media Software, XOS media processor and the next-generation Spectrum X.
  • Powered by NVIDIA GPU acceleration, Harmonic’s AI service also supports new advanced server-side HD-to-UHD upscaling, delivering superior video quality on 4K displays even when production is limited to full HD.

Partnership with CVE

Through a structured collaboration with Harmonic, CVE highlights significant ongoing activities in the Italian market with a major Tier 1 telecommunications operator.

The project involves the supply of Harmonic’s VOS Media Software to enable new video compression infrastructures. The implementation spans OTT environments and distributed infrastructures across multiple operational sites.

Within the same context, CVE plays a relevant operational role in integration and deployment activities for another major national Tier 1 telecom operator. Installations include on-premises hardware systems for the VOS platform and compression infrastructures dedicated to OTT services, based on the latest and super performant Harmonic XOS XL encoder.

These activities have taken place over recent months between Rome and Milan, contributing to the commissioning of new platforms.

The collaboration between Harmonic and CVE covers both infrastructure components and integration within existing workflows, ensuring operational continuity and scalability. These activities establish the basis for further developments already in the planning phase.

NAB 2026 Outlook

Luca Catalano, CEO of CVE, will be present at the Harmonic booth at NAB. Catalano stated:

“The presence of Harmonic at NAB Show 2026 highlights an evolution towards hybrid models, in which cloud and on-premises coexist within software-defined architectures.

The integration of artificial intelligence into video workflows represents a central element, with applications spanning production, distribution and monetization.

According to CVE, this approach confirms a structural transformation of the broadcast and streaming sector, moving towards greater automation, operational flexibility and integration between infrastructures and digital platforms, which, thanks to Harmonic, we are already successfully delivering to Italian operators.”
