\"\"CVE \u2013 Communication Video Engineering \u2013 has consolidated its strategic vision around the idea of a unified IP infrastructure as the foundation of the entire content lifecycle, from production to contribution and distribution.<\/p>\n

The goal is to build an open, scalable and interoperable ecosystem, capable of ensuring efficiency, sustainability and flexibility, while supporting broadcasters and operators towards increasingly dynamic, decentralised and monetisation-oriented production models.<\/p>\n

CVE states that IP now represents the natural platform on which content production, management and delivery converge. The challenge is not only technological but also cultural: workflows must be designed to be truly convergent, sustainable and open to innovation. This approach was presented by CVE\u2019s CEO, Luca Catalano, during one of the round tables held at the MAF in Milan.<\/p>\n

IP Infrastructure as the Backbone of Broadcast Production and Distribution<\/b><\/p>\n

The broadcast sector is undergoing a profound technological transformation, with the growing adoption of IP infrastructures for the integrated management of production, contribution and content distribution.<\/p>\n

CVE positions itself strategically in this scenario, developing concrete projects across all operational areas \u2014 from field production to studios and distribution platforms \u2014 in collaboration with leading technology partners.<\/p>\n

IP for Event Production Infrastructures: Agility and Operational Resilience<\/b><\/p>\n

The introduction of IP networks and 5G \u201cbubble\u201d architectures enables the creation of temporary, agile and highly reliable contribution solutions in any operational context.<\/p>\n

Through wireless networks offering high bandwidth and low latency, it becomes possible to carry out live or remote productions with reduced setup times and consistent broadcast quality.<\/p>\n

CVE has tested these architectures during the Turin Universiade, in collaboration with partners such as Neutral Wireless, Sony and Haivision, creating a flexible and resilient IP network able to ensure operational continuity even in complex and dynamic environments.<\/p>\n

According to EMG Italy\u2019s CTO, Francesco Donato <\/strong>(above), these technologies make it possible to work in full mobility while integrating seamlessly with the complex workflows typical of demanding sports productions, maintaining the quality and reliability characteristic of traditional broadcasting.<\/p>\n

IP for Contribution Infrastructures: Dynamic Flows and Interoperability<\/b><\/p>\n

The contribution architectures developed by CVE combine stability and flexibility, covering both fixed-site transmission scenarios \u2014 such as stadiums and production centres \u2014 and temporary or mobile setups.<\/p>\n

Through technologies from partners such as Harmonic, Haivision, Domo, Nevion and Sony, the solutions deliver high-quality, low-latency transmissions, with Video over IP flows that may use high bit rates for UHD feeds over fibre, or lower bit rate feeds using bonded connections for mobility while maintaining low latency.<\/p>\n

The IBC Lissone \u2013 Serie A project is a key example of this approach: the management of live IP-based feeds enabled optimisation of time and resources, ensuring greater efficiency and service continuity.<\/p>\n

EITOWERS\u2019 CTO, Piercarlo Invernizzi<\/strong> (above), notes that adopting IP in contribution overcomes the physical constraints of transmission, allowing simultaneous management of multiple real-time UHD-quality feeds.<\/p>\n

IP for Distribution Infrastructures: Quality, Analytics and Monetisation<\/b><\/p>\n

In the distribution phase, CVE develops integrated Headend solutions for signal compression and delivery over DVB-S\/S2, DTT and OTT networks.<\/p>\n

The company integrates advanced monitoring and analytics systems, allowing end-to-end content tracking and optimisation of service quality.<\/p>\n

Monetisation is becoming increasingly relevant in this area. CVE addresses it through platforms that track content, optimise delivery and customise stream management according to each client\u2019s strategy.<\/p>\n

Among its technology partners are Harmonic, TAG, NPAW and Broadpeak, while significant projects include several DTT Headends for national and international broadcasters, as well as OTT systems for content aggregators.<\/p>\n

According to Mauro D\u2019Amato, Head of Multimedia and Digital Services Engineering at TIM, the value of content today is also measured by the ability to distribute it in a targeted, traceable and sustainable way. IP makes it possible to achieve this balance between quality, efficiency and economic sustainability.<\/p>\n

A Unified Vision for the New Era of Broadcasting<\/b><\/p>\n

With the ongoing convergence of networks, production and distribution, CVE\u2019s strategy stands as a reference model for the media industry, combining technological innovation with a systemic approach.<\/p>\n

As Luca Catalano concludes, from live sports to OTT platforms, IP becomes the connecting element uniting all levels of contemporary broadcasting, paving the way for a more flexible, sustainable and future-oriented ecosystem.<\/p>\n
